there's no place like home <br /> <br />that's what they say <br /> <br />not many people <br /> <br />really understand that <br /> <br />when you cant go home <br /> <br />when you cant <br /> <br />seem to find a place <br /> <br />there's a yearning <br /> <br />for belonging <br /> <br />for a familiar place <br /> <br />for a family <br /> <br />for a friend <br /> <br />yet you cant <br /> <br />seem to fit <br /> <br />and the yearning <br /> <br />it grows stronger by the day <br /> <br />you pray and pray <br /> <br />to find that place <br /> <br />but you cant <br /> <br />you try and you try <br /> <br />still no luck <br /> <br />over and over <br /> <br />again and again <br /> <br />faster and slower <br /> <br />looking here <br /> <br />looking there <br /> <br />looking up <br /> <br />looking down <br /> <br />pondering this <br /> <br />pondering that <br /> <br />trying so hard <br /> <br />to find your right place <br /> <br />to find where you belong <br /> <br />to feel like you are home <br /> <br />slowly but surely <br /> <br />your strength and confidence <br /> <br />grow weaker and weaker <br /> <br />your strength to keep going <br /> <br />is less and less <br /> <br />your heart cannot <br /> <br />take the unbearable pain <br /> <br />of hoping and hoping <br /> <br />but never getting it right <br /> <br />it hurts and it hurts <br /> <br />now quicker and quicker <br /> <br />it picks up the pace <br /> <br />less and less <br /> <br />you yearn for this place <br /> <br />the place you call home <br /> <br />is nowhere in sight <br /> <br />your heart is breaking <br /> <br />you won't make it <br /> <br />through the night <br /> <br />its nearly morning <br /> <br />when lay to rest <br /> <br />leaving sad rose petals <br /> <br />where you took your last breath.<br /><br />Amber Zitzloff<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/there-s-no-place-like-home-4/
