I don’t wanna be another number! <br />Some disabled teen, <br />Who made the choice trying in school, <br />Just wasn’t her thing. <br />Because she couldn’t do it, <br />The world is just too mean. <br /> <br />When she realizes that reality has fallen short, <br />And so have many of her hopes and dreams, <br />Its too late she’s already messed it up for herself. <br /> <br />I don’t wanna be another number! <br />Some pregnant girl who meets this great guy, <br />Then gave sex a little try, <br />She was only 16 but it felt so right, <br />She thought they’d be together, <br />For more then just one week. <br /> <br />I don’t wanna be another number! <br />Some kid hooked on meth, <br />Who started homecoming night, <br />Her friends said it was fun and now, <br />She can’t turn right. <br /> <br />I don’t wanna be another number! <br />Some girl left in the rain, <br />Who was raped and left in pain, <br />She can’t tell her parents, <br />It hurts to tell her friends, <br />She doesn’t know how to make these, <br />Nightmares go away, <br />Or talk to the guys she calls friend. <br /> <br />I don’t wanna be another number! <br />A stereotypical teen, <br />I am going to make a difference, <br />I won’t end up pregnant, <br />On drugs or dropp outta school. <br /> <br />Were not all bad, <br />You were once a kid you’re self, <br />So shut up and listen to me! <br />I am not going to be another statistic! <br />Because I am me, and I will change the world, <br />Just wait and see, <br />I will not be just,<br /><br />Mrs. Cynosure<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/another-number/
