There is nothing that makes me feel <br />Closer to God than a country scene <br />A soft and gentle lifestyle <br />I’ll bet you know what I mean <br /> <br />A string of cows grazing up on a hill <br />An old homestead full of grace <br />Hay fields for miles and miles <br />Worries seem to quickly erase <br /> <br />It’s so quiet you can hear sounds <br />That you’ve never noticed before <br />Birds chirping from place to place <br />As you finish a satisfying chore <br /> <br />Once in awhile you hear the sound <br />Bringing you back to modern days <br />An airplane flying by <br />But of course it never stays <br /> <br />Ah yes, it’s a world I love so much <br />Standing on warm country sod <br />Because it always makes me feel <br />So much closer to God!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/closer-to-god-2/
