Here I sit <br />swiveling around <br />a gray seated throne <br />in office precision <br /> <br />Just look at this cube <br />sturdy like oak <br />dangerous to hit it <br />without a prescription <br /> <br />And oh this computer <br />a shining light screen <br />like the shining light screen <br />of a kings fire castle <br /> <br />With these mighty blue speakers <br />plastic and shorted <br />and a watt of sound <br />like a thunderous trumpet <br /> <br />These headphones nearby <br />to call all the women <br />and at 50+ years <br />their much more like wine <br /> <br />With thumbtacks and pencils <br />and erasures for erasing <br />I'm like a mighty warrior <br />fortified in arms <br /> <br />A phone for the dialing <br />and 3 digit extensions <br />I can call with the speed <br />of a steed at a track <br /> <br />With 3 mugs for coffee <br />one being for dunkin' <br />my selection is finer <br />than jewels on a crown <br /> <br />And my cube buddy 'Bob' <br />who dresses each day <br />with a tie from the finest <br />of Kauffman's new lore' <br /> <br />With all of these things <br />in this kingdom of mine <br />Is it a wonder that I <br />find swiveling contentment? <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Copyright (C) David DeSantis<br /><br />David DeSantis<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-office/
