I have read all the lines and stories, <br />Of how it's meant to be. <br />But all the tales in this world, <br />Won't bring you back to me. <br /> <br />For so long I waited for you, <br />To finally know your heart, <br />Only for you to tell me <br />That I never did fit the part. <br /> <br />My heart has already shattered, <br />The peices falling away. <br />The pain in my chest lacerating <br />And I can't keep the tears at bay. <br /> <br />I attempt to keep the pain inside, <br />Sincerely I do try, <br />But I gave my heart, my life, my soul <br />Everything for a lie. <br /> <br />I keep running it over in my head, <br />Going back to the very start. <br />I know now that you don't love me, <br />But you will always have my heart. <br /> <br />So, yes I know all the love stories <br />All those romantic cliches, <br />And the ache inside me grows stronger; <br />Because my heart died that way.<br /><br />Rachel Beggs<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/stories-12/
