Sitting at my desk, <br />a pen in my hand, <br />and a white empty page in front of me, <br />wanting to write something to shake all the revolved thoughts off me. <br /> <br />Seconds, minutes, hours, <br />time went by, <br />still nothing in my paper, <br />same confusion on my head. <br /> <br />8: 20 pm, <br />oh, how much time went by, <br />not noticing at all, <br />my attention called by a new message. <br /> <br />I checked it out, <br />a true poet was talking to me, <br />and so i read her pieces of art, <br />real poetry real feelings expressed with such precise words. <br /> <br />One called my attention, <br />''A Lesson From The Heart'' <br />oh! what a poem! <br />A true lesson from a big heart! <br /> <br />This bright piece of art, <br />cleared my mind, <br />cleared my heart, <br />made me feel free again. <br /> <br />I made a new friend now, <br />one of a kind, <br />a hard one to find. <br />Thanks my dearest poet friend, <br />who is teaching me a lesson from the heart. <br /> <br />Out of a thousand pieces of a broken heart, <br />you have collected nine hundred-ninety-nine, <br />and the the one significant left, <br />is the one life must collect. <br /> <br /> <br />January 8,2009 <br />Dedicated to a true poet, my dear Bonnie Collins <br />Thank you so much<br /><br />Ana Lia Zaldivar<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/poet-to-poet-3/
