Seeds, berries, and foods in short supply <br />flocks of feathered friends made a V line <br />to a place of plenty. <br /> <br />The existing regime idealism-over time- <br />calls for changes in the status quo. <br />Ethics and morals of our leaders “ism” in its <br />existence has to be comprised or discarded. <br /> <br />Before...an evening star stood alone <br />in the shadow of the sun. <br />But on this blustery winter day an <br />era of change is on the way. <br />A morning star rises in glory to overshadow <br />despair, shed light on hopelessness, and presents <br />a gleam of hope on healthcare and education, <br />jobs and housings, stable families...even <br />an open hand to friends and foes alike. <br />So that the whole world can live <br />on a well-preserved planet. <br /> <br />For he proclaims the realities of challenges we face. <br />Now, we’re ready to help lead by showing <br />respect to a medley of people, <br />their values and beliefs that each <br />will have a measure of happiness. <br /> <br />For we’re a beautiful collage <br />Gays and lesbians, Blacks and Whites, <br />Asians and Arabs, minorities and majorities, <br />believers and non-believers! <br /> <br />Now on this day (01/20/09) <br />we recognize our individual wings, <br />Collectively rising, fixing not your <br />eyes on the past, but on the timeless <br />words of The Transcendent One.<br /><br />Almedia Knight Oliver<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/transcendence-3/
