What is this strange feeling? <br />This meek, suddle emptiness, <br />It seems not to be healing, <br />To me, but none the less, <br />This auspicious aura glows, <br />Faintly against the lucid skies, <br />Down the drain, emotion flows, <br />Seeping heavily from hollow eyes, <br />I wish not to embrace it, <br />This feeling proves deadly, <br />It's so strong, I can't face it, <br />So I fight my fate readily, <br />With a hand over my heart, <br />Covering the large hole, <br />My torso torn apart, <br />Sweet release, my only goal, <br />I seek the long tranquil paths, <br />Amid the skies that glow teal, <br />Wherein soft bubbly baths, <br />Provide a cure, that can heal, <br />And mend my broken heart, <br />With its fibers of eternal- <br />Life, sown together what's apart, <br />And cease the burn of this infernal, <br />This wretched flame of life, <br />That destroys the human soul, <br />Facing turmoil and constant strife, <br />Its fury swallows me whole, <br />But when I'm inside the stomach of the beast, <br />I feel like I'm alive, <br />Though my heartbeat, long ago had ceased, <br />My mental state still thrives, <br />As I sit now, among the ashes, <br />Of what my life used to be, <br />I drift slowly to the pastures, <br />Where at last, I can be free...<br /><br />Derrick Andrews<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-know-not-where-i-m-going-but-i-know-relief-awaits-me/
