Are you alone <br />Eating a meal, with only thoughts for company <br />In a new city, with no one to share the discovery <br />Or when the odd one out at a party, is you <br /> <br />Are you alone <br />At a hustling workplace, where no one cares if you’re gone <br />At home, with masks and shields in place <br />Or when sex masquerades as love, or may be the reverse <br /> <br />Are you alone <br />From birth till death, as mistakes we call experience <br />Foster the individual, denying our connectedness <br />To the eternal energy, of the universal spirit <br /> <br />So then is the answer, to this paradoxical loneliness <br />Welcoming death, as the gateway <br />To entering other forms of being <br />That perhaps, take us closer to the One source <br /> <br />Or is the answer <br />Hiding within the scattered array <br />We call living a full life <br />Waiting to be discovered <br /> <br />So are you alone <br />What do you feel <br />Right here and now <br />As you read this?<br /><br />Anita Atina<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-paradox-of-being-alone/
