The wind holds the dew, <br />down on the tree tops. <br />And the thunder rolls, <br />with a lighting shot. <br /> <br />A gleary moon, <br />under a blanket of clouds. <br />Eery is the presence, <br />of the sudden shroud. <br /> <br />A whisper in the wind, <br />that my ears nearly miss. <br />My heart feals suddenly light, <br />in this strange bliss. <br /> <br />And the clouds part, <br />and a meadow breaks out. <br />The sun shines, <br />and I hear angels shout. <br /> <br />And in the mist of it all, <br />I couldn't possibly miss. <br />The bright golden gates, <br />that end my apocalypse. <br /> <br />And standing tall, <br />strong and bright. <br />Is my Lord, <br />standing in the light. <br /> <br />And with open arms, <br />he sweaps me up. <br />He holds me close, <br />with love in his touch. <br /> <br />And each sin comminted, <br />each wretching wrong do, <br />was forgeven then, <br />and every day before I even knew. <br /> <br />At the gates of heaven, <br />I celibrated with joy. <br />The peace that God gives us, <br />this wonderful, beautiful ploy.<br /><br />kimber harrison<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/at-the-gates-of-heaven/
