Come the Dark again <br />I will be steel this time, <br /> <br />my Heart <br />Ready-Strength, <br />toned. <br /> <br />Come the Dark <br />my Hope's Re-enforced <br />my Faith Renewed' <br /> <br />and I shall toss aside <br />Diminishments <br />and Negativities <br />and Seething Flutterings. <br /> <br />I will wave <br />that Wand <br />which is Hearth and Kin; <br /> <br />tall Stance make <br />against dark Blandishments <br />strike low <br />Fear-ments, <br />Afraid-ness, <br />Rage-ments, <br />Cynicalness <br />Devil-ments <br />and Tricks <br />which diminish <br />Human-ness <br />and the Light. <br /> <br />I will, <br />as I have <br />in the past, <br />do it <br />Again <br />and Again <br />as often as I Need to <br />and Should. <br /> <br />I will this time flip Fear <br />and wring from it Hope. <br />I will taffy stretch Time <br />to what I need to rehabilitate Negativities. <br />I will take Rage and make it to lie down with Peace <br />and make the Harming Ones weep Atonement Tears. <br />I'll not veer from my path, nor falter <br />and if need be <br />you find me on the other side <br />yet alive <br />still struggling if need be; <br />and if there, there is no need <br />then my story will have ended well.<br /><br />Lonnie Hicks<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/come-the-dark/
