** RESTORING WORDS! <br />I am tired of all those hollow words, - <br />Those meaningless, useless and senseless <br />words! <br />Words of false promises being made, - <br />By greedy vote-seeking politicians, - <br />as on date! <br />Words that stagnate in our hearts and <br />minds, <br />Words that separate and divide! <br />Words that shun love, - for hate! <br />What would be our destiny and fate? ! <br />Soon men will speak in different tongues, <br />Like men of Babble, as confusion runs, <br />As words get mummified inside men’s heart, <br />Forming separate islands - to isolate! <br />While many unuttered words lie congealed, <br />Inside a poet’s heart they lie unseen! <br />Can he restore their essence and magic once <br />more, <br />Using words as communion as they flow, <br />Uniting all the world and its distant shores? ! <br />Let him banish all confusion of our minds <br />and hearts, <br />Restoring the magic of meaningful words; <br />And give those words its true merit, <br />Making us speak a single language of the <br />spirit! <br /> -Raj Nandy <br /> 03 Feb 09 <br /> New Delhi<br /><br />RAJ NANDY<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/restoring-words/
