Two people sitting on the side of a bath <br />in an hotel in Anglesey; and the Sid James-esque laughs <br />coming from me <br />were perhaps unappealing <br />yet rather revealing <br />that you and I <br />need not try <br />to entertain each other. <br /> <br />Just to laugh with another <br />and more so with one's lover <br />before falling into bed <br />instead <br />of the roses and candlelit dinners <br />is all I would ask for, <br />... what could be more? <br /> <br />(Except, ahem, perhaps sometimes: <br />and, please, do not forget the wine) . <br /> <br />Hobbling to breakfast, <br />after, at last, <br />I had dived into the sea <br />(too shallow - look what it did to me) <br />laughing with ourselves, laughing with others... <br />yet observing, in sadness, here comes another <br />couple who will never feel as we do: <br /> <br />(let that never be me, <br />let that never be you) . <br /> <br />If one can drive through green-drenched hills, <br />singing along with the CD until <br />the voice <br />is hoarse <br />the imagination flowing, <br />skin glowing, <br />eyes shining, <br />that moment of finding <br />complete and utter bliss <br />is a moment I will miss <br /> <br />until Angelsey awaits again, <br />or any other place... <br />any other space.... <br /> <br />be it when.<br /><br />Tara McH<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/anglesey-awaited/
