Darkness and deeply dug earth <br />The moon in full giving light <br />In the corners metallic garbage <br />Remeltable steel mixed with dust <br />In abhorrence for the word broken <br />In the shadows things deplete <br />Up those nooks reside humans <br />Mothers but what ghosts <br />They have to frighten children <br />Blackouts looming culture <br />Still for the tomorrow <br />Long legs and sweet smiles <br />On rusted shattered faces <br /> <br />Make things difficult <br />What is easy and impossible <br />That is difficult <br />Squeezing their way <br />One by one under watchful eyes <br />All the things but few <br />Scanning through the bones <br />Who has the right to the land <br />How can one sell earth <br />Just because by trickery <br />In betrayal of all values <br />Human but averted <br />The revolution by pushing back <br />A few hundred years more <br /> <br />Nothing prevents the doing <br />Anything that can bring <br />Those barriers down <br />Some holy spirits to perpetuate <br />For the inner freedom a heart vast <br />The voices from within <br />Those whispers shall one day <br />Fall as lightening thunders <br />How many more bloodsheds <br />How many more sacrifices <br />11/3/2009<br /><br />Sadiqullah Khan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/voices-from-within/
