The child in me <br />Is wide awake <br />Old habits of childhood <br />Still in my lonesome nature <br />All fresh and frisk <br /> <br />The adult in me is rationale <br />The parent in its perfection's strive <br />The child in me is in Love! <br />In life; my timid sensitive soul <br />Is out to play with its imaginary mate <br /> <br />So harmless to a point <br />Yet grotesquely enormous <br />In its total impact <br />My shadow in this fading moon's light! <br />Is keeping me company in my plight! <br /> <br />I smile with wonder <br />In my eyes <br />At my thoughts <br />my mirth bubbles to surface <br />Yet untold happiness touches my lips! <br /> <br />As if' Among flowers I find a cup of wine!
