While lying in a summer field <br />The sunlight warms my skin, <br />Bright clouds play hide and seek around <br />Their hidden shapes within; <br /> <br />Somewhere a bee is buzzing 'round, <br />A meadow lark sings sweet - <br />The breeze blows distant tinkling <br />Of a wind chime down the street; <br /> <br />Soft on a bed of daisies <br />Interspersed with Queen Ann's lace, <br />I breathe their herbal essence <br />As they brush across my face; <br /> <br />I slowly sip pink lemonade <br />Its tartness quells my thirst, <br />My mind is writing poetry - <br />With words precisely versed; <br /> <br />So grand to be a country girl, <br />I'm mother nature's child - <br />Within this splendid moment <br />So deliciously beguiled. <br /> <br /> <br />3/19/2009<br /><br />Linda Ori<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-moment-of-splendor/
