Bleary eyed we gaze upon <br />the sunlit meadows, the darkest storm <br />and feel the breeze and soak the warm <br />and listen to the bees that swarm. <br /> <br />Fresh flowers fragrance finds <br />those special memories in our minds <br />and cast us back so many years <br />and fades away the cares and fears. <br /> <br />We dream upon the floating clouds <br />the ones that golden sunlight shrouds <br />with fleeting shadows on the ground <br />speeding by without a sound. <br /> <br />The buds are green and small <br />awaiting springtime rain to fall <br />and in my heart I hold a seed <br />and wonder at what spring means.<br /><br />David Taylor<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/awakening-from-winter/
