Why does love hurt so much – <br />yet we can’t give it up - I love <br />people totally undeserving, I feel <br />sympathy for people locked up in <br />prison for doing deeds I would <br />never choose to do myself <br /> <br />Yet I have FELT the same FEELINGS – <br />the only difference is, I had a criterion <br />to decide between various emotions, while <br />they did not; early in life I decided love ‘per <br />se’ was dangerous - we might love somebody <br />who might hurt us too much <br /> <br />Like my dad loved my mother, yet could never <br />win or earn her love in return; or we might smother <br />someone who longed to be free – whatever we do, <br />we have no control over the emotions of another, we <br />cannot dictate what they should feel – without a small <br />bit of authority, I can’t play this game of <br /> <br />Hit and run love – it is much too painful….<br /><br />Margaret Alice<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/hit-and-run-love/
