The bird is gone <br />The tree is now asleep. <br />The waves are calm, <br />The tide is now over. <br /> <br />The room is empty <br />The traveller has gone. <br />It is all a whispering light, <br />The shadow hasn't left. <br /> <br />The flower hath fallen, <br />It was only dawn. <br />The sun was young <br />But it was soon twilight. <br /> <br />He too had a world, <br />He too had a lingering dream. <br />Before the bud was open <br />It was to meet the winds. <br /> <br />He inched towards death, <br />His world was no more lit. <br />Prayers served a passing wind, <br />Life was soon into broken strings. <br /> <br />The game was finally lost, <br />The heart sank into silence. <br />The bird hath finally flown <br />And a few feathers in the cage remain. <br /> <br />Rains are over now, <br />The valley hath fallen ito silence. <br />And in the whispering air <br />A song of dreams allures.<br /><br />Ravi Panamanna<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/feathers-5/
