We come into being <br />And open our eyes <br />With a storyless book <br />As a prologue to the world <br />And cared <br />And nurtured <br />Then groomed in a pram <br />Till we walk on our feet. <br /> <br />On blank pages of life <br />A short script is written <br />By parents <br />With preface full of <br />Prayers, love and fortunes. <br /> <br />We are guided <br />Into the predatory populations <br />As a prodigy <br />To explore our qualities <br />And on paths prodded by elders <br />To follow the fate honestly. <br /> <br />We place our introduction <br />To the age of productivity <br />And carve out our essence <br />To write the chapters of <br />Struggle, experiments, <br />Happenings and efficiency. <br /> <br />We get maturity <br />With years bounded by time <br />And index full of spectrum <br />To lookout from <br />The insolent and immoral society. <br /> <br />We enjoy the life long practices <br />And cry <br />And laugh <br />And convince ourselves <br />With all golden memories. <br /> <br />We inscribe the concluding <br />Manuscript of life cursively <br />By ink enriched with <br />Elapsed moments <br />Thus, completing a tale <br />Merinated with experiences. <br /> <br />We outpour our knowledge <br />Of honour and dignity <br />On generations next to come <br />For we could be remembered <br />And die with a personality. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(4/4/2009)<br /><br />Sameer Ahmed<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-cursive-tale-of-existance/
