Bursting colour around budding field, setting <br />Goldstars ablaze in hedgerows, and singing <br />A springsong, Devon weekend throws regrets <br />To the wind and sparkles warm air. Clinging <br />Tightly to red-earthed furrows is furry <br />Emergence in bright lines, wispy green things <br />Are birthing there. Summer is well aware <br />That it will follow, and waits in the wings <br />With fiercer heat, but soft Spring lasts with dawn's <br />Devon-cool.
