I had my heart truly broken today <br />By a man I call, “My Son.” <br />I knew when I talked with him <br />He wasn’t poking fun. <br /> <br />I asked him, “Why haven’t you called? ” <br />Or answered my emails? ” <br />His answer was so hurtful <br />Driving in deep the nails. <br /> <br />“I was busy doing something else <br />Didn’t have anytime for you. <br />And as far as those emails you send me <br />I blocked them now from my view.” <br /> <br />He drove those hurtful words in deep <br />Deep into my open loving mother’s heart. <br />Did he know what damage he was inflicting? <br />I think he knew it from the start. <br /> <br />But why would he feel this need, ” I wondered? ” <br />What was buried in his heart not shared? <br />Did I do something to hurt or anger him? <br />Or is it that he really doesn’t care? <br /> <br />I will give this burden up to God in prayer <br />And ask that He heal what is for me unseen. <br />To sooth my sons hurt and sin of pride <br />And take away evils mean. <br /> <br />By: Linda Winchell <br />Copyright: 2009<br /><br />Linda Winchell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-mother-s-hurting-heart/
