Today <br />motherless <br />I wonder <br />what I missed.. <br />the way she fed <br />balls and balls of rice <br />with ghee and dhal <br />the smell of mother <br />her Jasmine flower <br />the grace of her voice <br />her cheering moods <br />the way she played <br />with my silly toys <br />just enjoyed <br />with my age <br />a child she was <br />when I was <br />an adult she grew <br />up with me <br />she opened the sky <br />and showed me the stars <br />filled my nights <br />with fullness of moons <br />she preserved to me <br />the poem of life <br />the love of living <br />faith in healing <br />with delicate things <br />she was a wonder <br />for her weapons were modest <br />smiling in sadness <br />teaching life is in living <br />suckling throughout <br />was I her oozing energies <br />she stood for me <br />I made her a Child <br />and she mothered me <br />and I stood <br />with my babe <br />My mother inside me....<br /><br />lalitha iyer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-motherless-day/
