The chair
hugs me

holds me
like it loves me

good book good wine
couldn't be more comfy.

She appears before me
ensconced in coat, hat, scowl & scarf.

'Not now...please! '
I plead telepathically

but she doesn't speak
...telepathy.

Her mittens dangling
like an extra pair of hands.

'Come on! '
she makes me an offer I can't

refuse

giving it to me
straigt.

'I'm bringing you
for a walk! '

I try to confuse her
by telling her

her left hand shoe
is on her right hand foot

& her right hand shoe
is only a dog bitten summer sandal.

She looks
at me

with a cold
so what.

I give up
give in

know that I
can't win

laugh as I
un-comfort myself.

'I need a hand
to hold me

so the wind won't
push me about! '

We walk off
into Time

(her hand in mine)

always tis
moment

exists
for me.

MY little girl
talking my heart

.. for a walk.

Dónall Dempsey

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/for-a-walk-for-lyn/
