who am i to say
what is right, what is wrong
when i can't even think straight
at just the sound of your voice
that sweet melody voice
which sends me soaring past the stars
thrilling me with a high that never ends
my emotions cannot be tamed
though anger ceased to exist
only love, happiness and more love
swirling in and around me
am i trapped? or set free?
i can no longer tell them apart

is it right that i can no longer scream?
that i can't erupt with madness?
i continue to drown in the music in my ears
no longer worried about what is up
or what is down
as long as i'm warmed by your voice
i'll ignore the world
ignorance is bliss and i've dipped my toes in its water
now fearless i jump
recklessly into the river of bliss
swimming freely, left whole
as in my soul is together, is right
with only a moment of silence
i am pulled from my river
placed onto a battlefield ready for war
prepared to fight for the ignorance again
where the soft ringing in my ear is heard
your voice lifts my feet from battle
a smile settles upon my face
leaving me whole again
<3

Leah Ayliffe

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/voice-57/
