Normal For My Age <br />by Barbara Lynn Terry <br /> <br />She looked at the way I was dressed, <br />And said that I was cute, <br />That experimenting was normal, <br />For my age. <br /> <br />Then she said that I shouldn't <br />Do it anymore because people <br />Would think bad things about me <br />That girls, boys just cannot be. <br /> <br />It didn't make any sense what she said, <br />And I did my best to be who I have to be <br />In this life of being a girl. <br />A life I didn't ask for. <br /> <br />But I will be me no matter what, <br />Or who says different, because <br />I just have to be this girl in my soul <br />So I can be happy, complete and whole. <br /> <br />After years and years of living as the girl I am, <br />I have found that living my life <br />Is normal; <br />for my age.<br /><br />Barbara Lynn Terry<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/normal-for-my-age/
