A longing
To be
one with the other
More than
that outward pleasure
A passion to discover
That hidden treasure
A hide and seek game like
Pleasantly was ever invented
Who did it first
And how did it happen?
Was it the chicken
Or was it the egg?

A sweetest sin,
The darkest chocolate
Have it once
And want it
Again and again
Hard to say no
So hard to repent.

One little combat
Sometimes more fearful
Than soldiers in war.
Enough for our lawyer
To earn his bread and butter
Maybe a lifetime
For him and his family
To build a treasure on
Others mountains of woe
Or infidelity

So then,
What is love?
Nature will say
“I want to have
my own way
for longevity”
Her way
To replace
One with the other,
To make room for another
ANJALI
01-05-2009

P.S: (Dr. Hitesh's poem Bullets of Sorrow set me thinking hence
I penned down this poem)

.

ANJALI SINHA

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/what-is-love-219/
