Korie Hoke should have taken Greyhound if not a cab, <br />She was drunk, inebriated, wasted, screwed up, <br />She was pulled over, her keys taken by the police; <br />She had one more key, <br />She plummeted into a concrete that struck her auto it did not yield, <br />She was in an accident that she caused her head to strike a windshield, <br />Her parents contend that police were at fault, <br />By letting her out of their sight, <br />She had a hidden key so she started the car, <br />Fled from the police and her arrest, <br />Only to land up in a hospital, injuries all over including her chest. <br />I hope that the lawsuit will be thrown out, <br />Because fault lies where fault is, <br />I feel for Korie, but like everybody else, <br />You sow what you reap, <br />Korie thought she would from the law she could flee, <br />Korie landed a place there would never thought she'd be, <br />Being comatose and all, <br />For her parents, you cannot blame the police for actions, <br />What do you expect to do? <br />Taze her, shackle her, beat her, use deadly force against her? <br />I think not, for you would bring assault charges against them. <br />Korie has had problem before with underage drinking, <br />Whether its overage, midage, underage, <br />It’s a problem that can and will affect your life, <br />It affected Korie’s. <br />It seems though it has no end. <br /> <br />(11-10-2007<br /><br />Joe Rosochacki<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/go-greyhound-2/
