Happy Birthday, Abram! ! ! ! ! <br /> <br />This world is in a sorry state, <br />our birthright so abused. <br />But one Canadian talks straight <br />to colleagues, so confused: <br /> <br />'Supply the proper building blocks <br />for maintenance repairs <br />instead of hoarding pharma stocks <br />and cancer-screening shares.' <br /> <br />His vision is a Medicine <br />designed for glowing health, <br />officially denounced as sin <br />by those who transfer wealth. <br /> <br />That birth, so many years ago <br />attended by two fellows <br />Linus and Abram (now you know) <br />who later manned the bellows. <br /> <br />It marked a time in history <br />when man could sense some hope <br />that for the human misery <br />they'd soon dispense with dope. <br /> <br />You see, the common people dropped <br />from illnesses like flies. <br />The slaughter needed to be stopped, <br />for no one heard their cries. <br /> <br />Word soon got out, the term HUMANE <br />had been preserved and frozen. <br />Without, the system turned insane, <br />perverted by the chosen. <br /> <br />A bumpy road, a jarring ride, <br />its captain at the helm, <br />its seedlings thriving, far and wide, <br />at times to overwhelm <br /> <br />incompetence and wanton greed, <br />restoring Nature's mandate <br />and recognizing that we need <br />much more than just a band-aid. <br /> <br />Another birthday, and so soon! <br />Dear Abram, have no fear. <br />I've sent to you a pink balloon, <br />you'll get it late this year. <br /> <br /> <br />Note: <br /> <br />This is another birthday greeting to my good friend and mentor. <br />He is Canada's best, straight from the sticks of Saskatchewan.<br /><br />Herbert Nehrlich<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/happy-birthday-abram-again/
