Wynand Johannes Louw - Ballade of Warrior fallen

2014-11-08 6 Dailymotion

With fields of green and clouds
overhead, the roses of life have died.
With gears turning the acts of war|
and souls to pay the price,
the roses of life have died.

The clarity lost, the valour forgotten,
and the honesty a memory from afar.
The trust a dying whisper of
friendship formed from fires
burning in the heart of Fallen Warrior.

The gates opened as the clouds
have burst! Gears turning,
blood pouring and lives lost
to touches of severing cold.

With fields of green and clouds
overhead, the roses of life had died.
Gears that turned of acts of war
and souls had paid the price;
the roses of life had died.

Warrior fallen at hands of friend,
a brother to stab from behind.
The severing cold that pierced his back
leaves echoes of blood being spilt.

The fields surround him to carry him
home. The clouds give way to
shimmering stars that sing
unto the knight:
“Farewell, brave Warrior,
thane hath done well!
Go now, home!
To fields forever green.”

In fields of green and clouds
below, the roses of life have died.
The gears of war have turned their last,
his soul to pay the price;
the roses of life have died.

Wynand Johannes Louw

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ballade-of-warrior-fallen/
