Feelings of wonder fill my mind <br />As we enter the darkness, <br />Leaving the light behind. <br />Cool and Moist, <br />The air gives a chill, <br />Everything here is dark and still. <br /> <br />Wondrous formations <br />Form like a wall, etching <br />Tunnels and shadows <br />Resembling long halls <br />A dark, bottomless lake <br />Cut out of the earth, <br />Reminds me of this <br />Great Planet's birth. <br /> <br />Formations of rock <br />Millions of years old, <br />Made of droplets of water <br />That feel really cold. <br />As you leave the darkness, <br />Feeling tired and beat, <br />The sun is shining brightly <br />You can feel the heat. <br /> <br />You'd like to return to <br />The cool dark cave, <br />Where time stops. <br />Memories to save.<br /><br />Sandra Finch<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/memories-to-save/
