There is life here. <br />The wind dances around the trees, <br />Playing chase with all foliage. <br />Birds prepare to nest and build heartily <br />For the arrival of unborn chicks. <br />Clouds of no formation race across the sky as if escaping... <br />While murmurings from inside indicate <br />The smooth running of a tight ship. <br />All around me there are sounds with distinction. <br />Even the lightest of rain creates a new life, <br />When mirrored droplets gather on leaves. <br />And while life closest to the ground <br />Is quieter and less wind-swept, <br />All around and above me, <br />The tree's, the wall's and <br />The razor wire... <br />There is life here.<br /><br />Irina Whitford<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/inside-the-wire/
