As I met Myself <br /> <br /> <br />One afternoon- when I was ill <br />Alone taking rest at home and I feel <br />I found me- a glimpse still… <br /> <br />As I met myself after a long <br />The world has changed from right to wrong <br />‘He’ almost looked like stranger <br />No where to find that heart- <br />The boy, the child and the thinker. <br /> <br />The clouds have gathered on the waiting sky <br />This is the month of spring <br />Desperate we looked up to find <br />The ‘lion’, ‘the ape; and ‘the king’… <br />Nowhere to find the canvas and the artist <br />Who used to dream, sing and dream. <br /> <br />As he stood at the gate <br />Waiting for the rain to stop <br />An important meeting to attain <br />The contract should not flop… <br />And I remember the day- <br />Running back from school fully wet <br />Have to reach the football ground before it’s late <br />Ma was angry but baba was cool <br />And I enjoyed the fun of being a fool. <br /> <br />Today, o’ rain wet my outer and inner both <br />And dropp them into the river <br />That crosses the vales, the woods, the lands to meet the sea <br />-My childhood, my adult hood and the eternity… <br />Playing with the heart <br />In blissful pleasure – forever… forever.<br /><br />Anirban Dasgupta<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/as-i-met-myself/
