Van Gogh's 'The Mulberry Tree' was our mulberry tree,
mine and Linda's. Inside the museum corridor, in Pasadena,
in heated swirls it bloomed and tilted at us

out of its molten roots― the bunched, lighted tubes
heaped their branches, their strands, their knotted
mulberry interiors lit-up between us

enough, so that we
leaned. The mulberry tree is our icon.
Her back is a dove's shoulder.

Doren Robbins

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/our-mulberry-tree-love-poem/
