Forever is mine, <br />You promised it to me. <br />I own Eternity, <br />Or so you said to me. <br />But when you spoke those empty words, <br />Did you know it, even then? <br />Did you see the dimming light, <br />The black oblivion, <br />The churning river of souls? <br />Tell me, love, <br />Did you see forever? <br />What a dismal place that must be, <br />Filled with empty promises and shards of broken dreams. <br />It must be a barren land, <br />For no imagination can picture it's landscapes. <br />I prefer the charms of Today, <br />The magic and mystery of Tonight, <br />And the immediacy of This Moment. <br />What a shame that you chose immortality. <br />Forever, written in the stars.<br /><br />K.M.
