I envision the life of a sailor, <br />A ship on the ocean deep, <br />Violent winds blowing wildly, <br />Where raging waves seem to leap. <br />Like an animal caged, I yearn <br />On this listless, immutable shore, <br />Oh! give me the impregnated water, <br />The storm's roar and spray galore, <br />Sailing through the ocean waves <br />Like an albatross set free, <br />Like an albatross, my home <br />I'll find on the remote sea. <br /> <br />Once more I humbly stand <br />On the deck of a prominent ship, <br />Ahoy! so long to the shore, <br />As the mooring chain begins to slip. <br />The shoreline no longer visible, <br />The dark clouds showing displeasure, <br />A sturdy ship and seafaring mates <br />Challenging the unpredictable weather. <br />Now, the desire of my soul shall always be, <br />Though the ire of the tempest will rage - <br />To seek a home on the scattering water, <br />And a performance on the ocean stage.<br /><br />Joseph T.
