Walking away from everyone, <br />I start to go in deep thought, <br />Putting words together. <br />I voice them out like a man possessed, <br />People walk on by, <br />Taking no notice, <br />Getting on with their non-existent life. <br />These people have no answers, <br />Only answers for themselves, <br />We are here, <br />So what led me to this point of madness? <br />Was it the thought, I was alone? <br />My heart left to go on, on it’s own. <br />Looking for a home, <br />A place where we are safe, <br />That is where they are going. <br />I had home but I left. <br />I found a second, <br />Soon I learned to hate, <br />It was the people that were a part of it. <br />So I try to write my voice, <br />None of what I write makes sense. <br />I carry on walking, <br />Always thinking out of the box, <br />That is what got me here. <br />I walk into the road a car narrowly misses me. <br />I hear the driver shouting some sort of abuse, <br />I laugh to myself. <br />I reach into my pocket for all my pennies, <br />Throwing them all at the toothless tramp. <br />He grinned with delight, <br />Saying thank you for every penny I gave. <br />He had a reason to be here, <br />I have to find mine, <br />I can’t keep on walking through like a zombie. <br />I am here today, the day is mine.<br /><br />Joseph Tanner<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/walking-away-15/
