We say goodbye like it’s nothing, but secretly we want to hold on. <br />When someone comes into your life they stay awhile and leave footprints on your heart. <br />Like you. <br />As long as there are memories of you, you will never be forgotten. <br />For memory is a way of holding onto the things we love, the things we are, the things we never want to lose. <br />Missing you gets easier everyday even though its one day further from the last time we saw each other, its one day closer to the next time we will. <br />We were blessed to have you in our lives and now we’re sad to say goodbye. <br />Though beneath the stars, above the cloud stands a peak. <br />There you will sit forever and a day watching as time flies by and keeping a careful eye on those you love below you as an angel would do for the lost souls on earth.<br /><br />Jane Tomlin<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/inevitable-parting/
