Spending the day shopping <br />for school clothes with my daughters yesterday <br />was a real eye-opener. <br />We were looking at the t-shirts (of course) <br />since they are pretty much <br />t-shirts and jeans kinda girls. <br /> <br />The favorite thing is to have your shirt <br />say a little something about you. <br />Tell the world ''who'' you are! <br /> <br />WHAT ARE WE TEACHING THESE KIDS? <br />The shirts we found had sayings like, <br />''If You're RICH, I'm SINGLE! '', <br />''Your Boyfriend Likes ME! '', <br />''Where's My Sugar Daddy? '', <br />''I Hope You Make More Than I Can Spend! '', <br />''Buy Me Something And I'll Be Nice''. <br /> <br />So, frustrated, we go look in the boys department <br />in the hopes of finding some ''normal'' t-shirts. <br />Here is what we find there: <br />''Pimp'', <br />''Playa'', <br />''Girls Like A Big Foot'', <br />''I Love Hot Moms''. <br /> <br />Since when is it funny <br />to teach our daughters to be money-hungry skanks <br />and our sons to be sex-craved pigs? <br />If this is their idea of telling the world who they are, <br />it's no wonder our world is so screwed up!<br /><br />Mary Nagy<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/if-you-re-rich-i-m-single-2/
