You can have your God of war, <br /> Or choose your enemy near or far. <br /> I claim a God of love and peace, <br /> He prays to men for war to cease. <br /> <br /> The God I worship gives us choice, <br /> We can think, act, by body or voice. <br /> Of the people who work and strive, <br /> You, I, and others keep wars alive. <br /> <br /> Our God of love, peace does not ask, <br /> For killing our brothers to be our task. <br /> We tend to love some and hate others, <br /> And hate to accept all people as brothers. <br /> <br /> As Christians we should always pray, <br /> That our Father God will hasten the day <br /> So inward and outward we find His peace, <br /> Then, God and us would see wars cease.<br /><br />James E.
