What if the sun never shone upon my face, <br />And I couldn’t see the beauty of nature everyday, <br />The wind rustling, blowing the trees, <br />The new buds of flowers, growing from seeds, <br />The feel of the air as it caresses my skin, <br />The feel of excitement I hold within, <br />To be alive and feel blessed every day, <br />To know God is with me, showing me the way. <br /> <br />What if I never felt Gods grace, <br />To not know his love, his tenderness, his ways, <br />My life would be empty, dull and unkind, <br />The sun would not shine, I would be blind, <br />Blind from the beauty all around me, <br />The flowers, the sun, the wind blowing the trees, <br />God gives me a gift every day, <br />He lets me be here, he shows me the way. <br /> <br />What if I go to sleep now and never awake, <br />It wouldn’t matter, I wouldn’t be afraid, <br />He’d send his Mighty Angels while I was asleep, <br />They would pick me up gently and I’d begin to weep, <br />Weep from the joy of finally going home, <br />To feel Gods arms around me, holding me close, <br />The splendour of Heaven, the power of his love, <br />His gift to me from all that he does, <br />I am so thankful every day, <br />To say What if, only God showed me my way.<br /><br />Jean Gray<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/what-if-60/
