The winds of time polish the stars
as the years flow swiftly by,
We touch the perfection of beauty
that crumbles as its time to die We are as glowing flowers
in the warmth of life's sun,
and as fragile is our beauty
for so soon the winter comes. Oh, how quickly the petals fall
to perish as the sun grows cold.
Oh, so soon to lie forgotten
beneath the glittering snow.
For how fleeting is the summer
as have been those before
and as the wind passeth over
we are gone to be known no more.

Kathy Dyer

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/as-the-wind-passeth-over/
