Why can’t folks be honest? <br />Why do they have to lie? <br />By giving different reasons, <br />To why we have to die. <br /> <br />They told me that my Daddy <br />Would no longer be around, <br />As I watched through tears of anger, <br />While they lowered him in the ground. <br /> <br />Night-time is the hardest, <br />When I’m lying in my bed, <br />It is then I think about him, <br />And wish he was not dead. <br /> <br />Then suddenly, I see him, <br />As the darkness turned to light. <br />He begins to walk towards me, <br />To tell me he’s alright. <br /> <br />I know that he is with me, <br />To help me ease the pain. <br />And if ever I should need him, <br />He will come back again.<br /><br />John Griffiths<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-daddy-5/
