I’ve never seen a child so fair,
Golden sand is in your hair,
Beautiful and full of laughter,
Were you an answer to a prayer?

A dainty child without a care,
So fairy like, and sweet and rare,
With golden curls that flow so free,
I know that God’s been good to me.

When you twirl round that garden tree,
The little birds sing happily,
They know they’re safe, because your sweet,
And little cats sit at your feet.

A little star that shines at night,
With eyes so bright and full of light,
Your pinkish roses covered in dew,
I never tire to look at you.

A little dancer in the snow,
A precious stone that’s all aglow,
My love for you you’ll never know,
What would I do? If you should go?

Copyright ©2003 Julia Ann Holliday

Julia Ann Holliday

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/susannah/
