NATURE’S CYCLE <br /> <br />Do those trees in winter standing with their <br />bones thread bare, <br />Remember the lustrous Summer which has <br />gone? <br />When they were clothed with a green apparel, <br />And surrounded by bird’s melodious song? <br />Do they recall the blossoms which flowered <br />and bloomed, <br />With colors of flaming yellow, violet or red? <br />And those monsoon showers on which they fed? <br />Do those trees recall the countless Summers, <br />Which got gently gathered by Autumn’s fall? <br />And the bone chilling gusts of northern winds, <br />With the snowflakes which the winter brings? <br />Yet as they stand desolate and bare, they all <br />hope and dream to dare, - <br />Of a Springtime once more, to cover their <br /> nakedness as before! <br /> <br />While for some of us those fresh green leaves, <br />Shall never return with the coming of Spring! <br />We shall perish with memories of our past, <br />With bones and flesh turned to dust! <br />But those trees are happy to forget their past, <br />Nature keeps their memories to forever last! <br /> -Raj Nandy <br /> 23 May 09 <br /> New Delhi<br /><br />RAJ NANDY<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/nature-s-cycle-2/
