The path going up the mountain <br />Twists and turns and is steep. <br />I slog to go up, up and up. <br />Then when tired, I stand <br />At the edge of the mountain <br />And the valley, <br />I see a valley of flowers <br />And a row of mountains <br />With clouds overhanging. <br />The view breathtaking, <br />Tempts me to dive <br />And be with the flowers <br />Or just fly to the mountains <br />Across on the clouds. <br />But I know, <br />If I dive, it is foolhardiness, <br />If I fly, I wander, <br />And if I climb up <br />Taking the twists and turns <br />In my stride, it is ambition. <br />So when I have to trade, <br />I opt for the view at the top. <br /> <br />On the edge <br />of the land and the sea <br />as I stand, <br />the lapping waves beckon me <br />to take a voyage to the infinity. <br />If I take the voyage, it is an adventure <br />and if I still walk straight, <br />it is playing safe. <br />So when I have to trade, <br />I take the voyage. <br /> <br />14/06/09<br /><br />maitreyee joshi<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/on-the-edge-15/
