A woman
Yes a woman.
Creation’s croon
Nay, the God’s boon
Enigma or mystery
Enchanting history

Her birth precedes
the birth of dawn,
A dawn of glory
The glory of the morn
In the sky forlorn.
she’s like lucent dew from sky
Or like fairies’ intoxicating sighs,
she’s manna from the heaven
or treasures of seas seven
A song of offering
At the altar of gods.

She’s graceful, .
She’s sweet,
and void of pride.
Might be her faults
lie beneath her vaults,
For this, its not her fault,
If to her share,
some errors she doth make,
then will lay bare
her amendments to rake

For her parents
a doting daughter,
For her husband
a loving wife,
Not a slave
before that lord,
but a friend,
who wont walk
on a lonesome road,
nor walk
in for fear and dread.
But having once walked,
will always hold head high,
Never will she fail
unless trampled on her tail.

Woman
Yes a woman,
Shes that nymph
where anxious cares
her pensive thoughts oppressed.
Shes a lover where
secret passions hide in her breast.
Shes a mother, a daughter
a scornful virgin,
whose charms if missed,
where no ardent lover
is robbed of his bliss.
No matter how small,
these qualities
shes endowed with,
How great
How great
A wonder she is

Isn’t she?

Anjali
12-06-2009

ANJALI SINHA

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/woman-67/
