Not like a fish <br />That just diverts <br />Side by side <br />As it swims ahead <br />Neither as a steep ladder <br />With a minuscle rest <br />After climbing several steps <br />Or a journey by train <br />With refreshments <br />At every station <br />But driven by ambition <br />AN arrow from Arjun's bow <br />Blind to every thing around <br />A horse without the liberty <br />Of looking side to side <br />Lest it looses its way <br />A jet, headed straight ahead <br />To its destination <br />Brushing aside all distraction <br />With great force and energy <br />It hits the target <br />And a goal achieved <br />The action that has a reaction <br />With pieces scattered everywhere <br />But later, an emptiness, a lull <br />And gathering of the pieces <br />Of the reaction <br />Of failures, of success <br />And dreaming, or regreting <br />Missing the distractions <br />That would have been <br />On the way....<br /><br />maitreyee joshi<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/driven-8/
