[On reading Mamta Agarwal’s ‘Homage to Common Man’] <br />The pains of a bereaved one <br />Over loss of sibling, child or spouse <br />To unnatural, untimely death <br />Can never assuaged be <br />With pass of time or <br />Forming new relations! <br />The person lost is lost for ever <br />And never replaceable <br />Memories kindled <br />By each familiar sight <br />Rakes up the pain <br />Tears unbeckoned they brim <br />Afresh anew ever ready <br />To fall at dropp of name! <br />Tears and Pain <br />Always remain <br />Soul maimed <br />The zombie <br />Drags it’s feet <br />To the end of life! <br />Our sympathy, <br />Pity or prayers <br />None will help <br />Fill the emptiness inside! <br />Life is cruel....yes <br />And there is no remedy <br />To dull the pain <br />Or stop the tears!<br /><br />Angelina Pandian<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/bereaved-inspired-by-mamtaji/
