Deep within the forest's heart, <br />does the foliage spread apart, <br />revealing light on nature's art, <br />like a spotlight on the stage. <br /> <br />Like a spotlight on a stage, <br />stands a character of sage, <br />allure and mystery does she wage, <br />as a creature of the woods. <br /> <br />As a creature of the woods, <br />fellow guardian of redwoods, <br />she stands with silver hooves, <br />and she stares into your soul. <br /> <br />As she stares into you soul, <br />with eyes as dark as coal, <br />a fellow beast appears, her foal, <br />with an undeveloped horn. <br /> <br />With an undeveloped horn, <br />(absent once when he was born) , <br />he looks onto us with lorn, <br />though still a creature of the forest. <br /> <br />Though still a creature of the forest, <br />he will irrevocably flourish, <br />like all anagogic forces, <br />deep with in the forest's heart.<br /><br />Wesley Mincin<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-forest-s-portrait/
